Ever wanted to hoist nautical signal flags to send a message? Of course you have ... and now you can, direct within your Messages app. Using the Maritime Flags of the International Code of Signals, you can send messages to other iMessage users. Each flag stands for a single letter or digit, and you can hoist flags up the halyards right within Messages to create your text. Even choose whether to send the message complete with a caption, or to leave it with just the image and let the recipient work it out! Many of the flags also have a particular meaning on their own, and Flags Code allows you to browse through those and send one, again with or without a caption. People receiving your messages on iOS 10 will see the captions, if you've chosen to send them, whether or not they have Flags Code installed. On iOS 9 and below, they will just see the graphic.
